Combining SEO and Engineering

“In 2018, I was working as a production engineer with a grueling 12-15 hour shift – and concurrently, co-running a small business designing and selling backpacks. I had this idea that if I could get a website of my own to sell the backpacks (in addition to selling through online marketplaces) then my reach would be far greater.

So I started sticking my nose at building websites and how search engine works. It took a huge amount of my time and energy to get to know and apply everything I’m learning, all while keeping a full-time, 80-hour work week.

I eventually quit my job. I realized that if I wanted to know more about actual SEO, I needed to get my hands dirty on the actual workflow of an SEO agency – and that’s exactly what I did.

After finding work as a content writer in a huge digital marketing agency in China, I was able to test and improve my SEO writing skills (filtering what works and doesn’t) and also grasp and apply my learnings in a real SEO company.

As I knew more about how search engine really works, I got to know how my engineering/math and analytical skills can help me have a better approach to optimizing websites.

So, after one and a half years, I started getting clients on the side and eventually grew my network in several regions: US, Europe, and Australia.

Fast forward to 5 years later, SEO is my life’s work as well as a source of unparalleled enthusiasm.

In my career as an SEO, I was able to handle over 40+ websites and companies and have helped them rank relevant keywords across different search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc).

I have always had that passion, energy, and commitment to get more clients to whomever company I work with and I believe I can bring the same results to yours.

In three years, from one freelance SEO enthusiast to a team of 10 people, we are expanding our digital marketing services offshore.

After working as an independent SEO contractor for 3 years, building my team and training them, U-Need SEO Digital Marketing Agency is born.”
